Amor y rabia, sobre todo, nos invita a reflexionar sobre nosotros mismos. El mensaje, intencional o no, es inevitable; se trata de un canto al amor en sus diversas manifestaciones: el amor de pareja, el amor filial, la afinidad, el deseo de fundirse con la persona amada, con sus temores y atrevimientos, con sus silencios y sus estruendos, con sus riesgos. Pero es también un canto-conflicto que nos plantea el amor propio, la aceptación de uno mismo, la aceptación del otro.
En contraste con el amor, está la rabia; la que engendra odio, la que plantea desafíos y que no es sino la otra cara de la misma moneda. Y esa dicotomía, en los cuentos de esta colección, es universal. Puede verse en las planicies de Australia; aparece entre los cerros, pequeños valles y caudalosos ríos de la Zona Sur de Costa Rica o en Guanacaste. Gozo y sufrimiento, desconcierto y misterio. Después de todo, en eso consiste el amor y la rabia.


Love and Anger, above all, invites us to reflect on ourselves. The message, intentional or not, is inevitable; it is a song of love in its various manifestations: the love of a spouse, filial love, affinity, the desire to merge with the loved one, with the fears and daring, with the silences and roars, with the risks. But it is also a conflicting song that faces us with self-love, impelling us to self-acceptance, and to the acceptance of the other.
